Case study
Optimizing Pickup delivery by grouping orders for seamless verification
Overview
The previous operational process for pickup store owners involved providing a unique code for each order to be delivered. However, when a driver had multiple items to deliver to different locations, this process became inefficient and time-consuming. The challenge was to streamline the verification process and make it more efficient for both drivers and pickup owners.

Scope
The goal was to improve the pickup and delivery process by allowing pickup owners to group orders under a single unique code for each driver, rather than assigning separate codes for each item. This would reduce the operational time and eliminate unnecessary friction in the process, benefiting both drivers and pickup store owners. My role was to design the interface for the Pickup Store Owner App, ensuring it was intuitive and seamless for users to verify orders quickly.
Improved operational experience
Execution
We implemented a system to grouped all orders assigned to a particular driver for delivery to a specific pickup location. The grouped orders were then tied to a single unique code. When the pickup owner received the orders, they could easily mark items as received or flagged with just one click.
Once all items were verified, the unique code for that driver’s deliveries would appear, making it easy for the pickup owner to confirm the delivery. This simplified the process for both the driver and the pickup owner, eliminating the need for multiple codes and reducing operational delays.

Outcome
By grouping orders for each driver, we were able to reduce operational time and improve efficiency. Drivers could now deliver multiple orders to multiple locations faster, and pickup owners could verify deliveries with ease.
This change made the process smoother for everyone involved, reducing the strain on both the drivers and pickup owners and creating a more seamless experience overall.
